Associated British Ports choose RapidReach for its speed, flexibility and simplicity

Associated British Ports (ABP) selected the RapidReach Emergency Notification Service (ENS) to replace their existing system, after being impressed by the simplicity of the service. Staff were concerned that their system was over-complicated and this was affecting their confidence whenever they were required to use it. What they really wanted they said, was a system that was simple and easy to activate.

Dave Dixon, Safety Manager at Grimsby & Immingham Port, says of RapidReach, "The service functionality gives increased flexibility, greater ease of use and the ability to contact more locations more quickly. In addition, the price was less than the maintenance of the old technology.

As the largest port group in the UK, ABP place a high emphasis on Emergency Planning. Employing approx 2,500 people in the UK, ABP handle 25% of UK sea-borne trade through its ports. Grimsby & Immingham is the largest port in terms of tonnage of cargo throughput.

Situated on the south bank of the River Humber on the East coast of England, ABP Port of Grimsby & Immingham is host to numerous COMAH sites, as well as port facilities handling dangerous goods.
